MP Ration Card e-KYC: Process, Deadlines and Status
Every member on an MP ration slip needs Aadhaar e-KYC to keep getting ration. Here is how to do it at the ration shop or with the Mera eKYC face app, plus the deadline history and current status.

e-KYC (ई-केवायसी) links each person on your ration slip to their Aadhaar. In Madhya Pradesh, ration is given through AePDS, so a member whose e-KYC is not done can lose ration. During 2025, MP ran special drives and warned that ration would stop for anyone without e-KYC.
AePDS MP Guide is an independent information site. We do not do e-KYC and we will never ask for your Aadhaar number or OTP. e-KYC is done only on the ePoS machine at your ration shop, at official camps, or by you yourself on the official Mera eKYC app. Below we explain each method and the dates reported in news.
Method 1: e-KYC at the ration shop
- Go to your fair price shop (or any ration shop, see below) with every member whose e-KYC is pending. Carry each member's Aadhaar card and your patrata parchi.
- The dealer selects your card on the ePoS machine.
- Each member places a finger on the scanner for Aadhaar authentication. Iris or OTP to the Aadhaar linked mobile are fallbacks on many machines.
- Wait for the success message, and ask the dealer to confirm the member is shown as e-KYC done.
- If fingerprints repeatedly fail, use Method 2 (face e-KYC) or ask about the next camp.
Nationally, a DFPD letter of 25 June 2024 says NIC has enabled e-KYC at any fair price shop regardless of domicile, and a parliamentary reply of 11 Aug 2026 (as reported by Business Today) allows e-KYC at an FPS "of their choice anywhere in India". That helps migrant families.
Method 2: Mera eKYC app (face authentication)
Where fingerprints fail, MP districts have pointed people to the Mera eKYC (मेरा ई-केवायसी) app for face e-KYC, as reported by Patrika. The app is published on Google Play by the National Informatics Centre, DFPD Division (id com.nic.facialauth, 10M+ downloads). A district notice from Uttarakhand says the Aadhaar FaceRD app is also needed.
- Install Mera eKYC from the Play Store. Check the developer is National Informatics Centre. Install Aadhaar FaceRD if asked.
- Select Madhya Pradesh as the state.
- Type the member's Aadhaar number in the app.
- Type the OTP sent to the Aadhaar linked mobile. Do this yourself; never read the OTP to anyone.
- Take a face photo in good light and blink twice when asked.
- Wait for "e-KYC Successful". If it fails, go to the ration shop.
If your Aadhaar is not linked to a working mobile, you will not get the OTP. Update the mobile at an Aadhaar centre first.
MP e-KYC deadline history
| Date | What happened | Source |
|---|---|---|
| 9 to 30 Apr 2025 | Special e-KYC drive; ration to stop from 1 May without e-KYC. About 108.27 lakh of 543.31 lakh eligible beneficiaries were pending. | Amar Ujala, 11 Apr 2025 |
| 1 May 2025 | Deadline extended by 10 days | Zee News MP |
| 31 May 2025 | Deadline given in a Sehore district report | Patrika, 30 May 2025 |

All of these come from news reports. If you see a "last date" message on social media, confirm it at your ration shop or on 181 before you worry.
National rules that now apply
- Under the TPDS (Control) Amendment Order 2025, in force from 22 Jul 2025 as reported, all eligible households must do e-KYC every five years.
- Children under 5: Aadhaar where available, and e-KYC within one year of turning 5 (as reported).
- Cards with no ration lifted for six months can be temporarily disabled, followed by field verification and e-KYC within three months (as reported).
- Nationally, 86% of beneficiaries had done e-KYC by October 2025, according to PRS.
What is coming: face recognition at shops
As reported by ETV Bharat in April 2026, MP plans to roll out face-recognition based ration distribution statewide by December 2026. Until then, fingerprint authentication on the ePoS remains the normal method, with face e-KYC on the app as a backup.
How to check if e-KYC is done
We could not confirm an official online "e-KYC status" page for MP. The reliable ways are to ask your ration dealer to check on the ePoS machine, or check your entitlement and recent transactions in the Mera Ration app (it is not confirmed to show e-KYC status). Your shop's records also appear in reports on the AePDS MP portal, and your slip on Ration Mitra.
Scam and overcharging warnings
- Never share an OTP with a caller who says your "ration will stop today".
- Do not pay anyone extra for e-KYC beyond any officially allowed charge. If a dealer demands money, complain on 181 or 1967. See helplines.
- Download Mera eKYC only from the Play Store link above; avoid APK files shared on WhatsApp.

Frequently asked questions
How do I do ration card e-KYC in MP?
Visit your ration shop with each member and their Aadhaar card. The dealer selects your card on the ePoS machine and each member gives a fingerprint. If fingerprints fail, use the official Mera eKYC app by NIC for face authentication, which needs an OTP on the Aadhaar linked mobile. Camps are also held during drives.
What is the last date for MP ration card e-KYC?
News reports show MP set 30 April 2025, then extended it by 10 days, and a Sehore district report gave 31 May 2025. We found no MP-specific deadline for 2026. Under the TPDS Amendment Order 2025, as reported, e-KYC must be repeated every five years. Ask your ration shop for the current position.
How does the Mera eKYC app work for MP?
Install Mera eKYC (NIC, id com.nic.facialauth) and Aadhaar FaceRD if asked. Select Madhya Pradesh, type the Aadhaar number, type the OTP sent to the Aadhaar linked mobile, then take a face photo and blink twice. Wait for 'e-KYC Successful'. Do every step yourself and never share the OTP.
How can I check my MP ration e-KYC status?
We could not confirm an official online e-KYC status page for MP. Ask your ration dealer to check on the ePoS machine, which shows whether each member is verified. The Mera Ration app shows entitlement and recent transactions, but it is not confirmed to show e-KYC status. Be careful with websites that ask for Aadhaar to 'check status'.
Can I do MP ration e-KYC in another state?
Yes, according to national guidance. A DFPD letter of 25 June 2024 says e-KYC can be done at any fair price shop regardless of domicile, and an August 2026 parliamentary reply, as reported, allowed e-KYC at an FPS of the beneficiary's choice anywhere in India or through the Mera eKYC app.
Is there a fee for ration card e-KYC in MP?
We did not find any official fee for e-KYC in MP. Do not pay anything beyond what is officially allowed. If a dealer or agent asks for money to do e-KYC or threatens to stop your ration, complain to the CM Helpline on 181 or the food helpline 1967.
Will ration stop if e-KYC is not done?
In April 2025 the MP government said ration would stop from 1 May for anyone without e-KYC, as reported by Amar Ujala, though the deadline was later extended. Members without e-KYC are at risk of being dropped, so complete it as soon as possible at the ration shop or through the Mera eKYC app.
