"AePDS" is the name many states use for the website that shows ration shop transactions and stock from ePoS machines. People search for "aepds" plus a state name to check ration card details, monthly distribution or a shop's stock. The problem is that many lookalike sites rank for these searches. This page lists only the state portals linked from the central government's National Food Security portal, nfsa.gov.in.
This is an independent guide, not a government site. We have not loaded most state sites ourselves (Punjab was checked and is live), so a link can change or go offline. If a link fails, open the nfsa.gov.in list and follow the state link from there.
What AePDS is and where it started
AePDS stands for Aadhaar enabled Public Distribution System. At the fair price shop (FPS, राशन की दुकान), the dealer issues ration only after a family member passes Aadhaar biometric authentication on an ePoS (electronic point of sale) device. Most states connect the ePoS to an electronic weighing scale. If fingerprints fail, the fallbacks are iris scan, OTP to the Aadhaar-linked mobile, or face authentication.
The model began in Andhra Pradesh. An NIC Informatics article from October 2015 called AP the first state to implement ePoS in 100% of fair price shops, starting in Krishna district, with Phase I from 1 April 2015. NIC Andhra Pradesh gave technical support, and the system used Java, PostgreSQL and other open-source tools. By November 2017, Haryana, Tripura, Punjab and Sikkim (pilot) had adopted the AP model. A common claim that NIC built every state's AePDS site could not be confirmed.
State-wise AePDS and ration card portal directory
The ePoS column comes from nfsa.gov.in State_ePoS_Portals and the per-state pages (updated 13 October 2026). The ration card column comes from nfsa.gov.in Ration_Card_State_Portals (updated 12 October 2026). RC counts are as listed on nfsa.gov.in.
Reports you will find on AePDS sites
States that use the AePDS model share a similar page structure. The same report pages appear on the MP, Bihar, Delhi, Assam, Punjab, Haryana and Tripura sites:
| Page | What it shows |
|---|---|
| FPS_Trans_Abstract.jsp | FPS sales register: transactions shop by shop |
| Stock_Interface.jsp | Sales and stock abstract |
| KeyRegCards_Interface.jsp | Key register: ration card and unit counts |
| CompleteAbstract.jsp | State-level complete abstract |
Many AePDS sites also have an "RC Details" search. For Madhya Pradesh, a secondary source says it asks for month, year and RC number; for Andhra Pradesh, a secondary source says the aepos site accepts Aadhaar or ration card number. For other states the inputs are not confirmed, so expect some differences. Punjab's live AePDS menu, for example, showed no "RC Details" item. See AePDS RC Details for more.
How to check your ration details on a state AePDS portal
- Open the official list at nfsa.gov.in (State_ePoS_Portals or Ration_Card_State_Portals) and click your state, or use the matching link in the table above.
- Check the address bar. Government portals usually end in gov.in or nic.in. Close any site that asks for payment.
- Look for a menu such as "Reports", "RC Details", "Transactions" or "Ration Card". Labels change, so look for the closest match.
- Select the month and year, then your district, block or tehsil and shop if asked.
- If a search box asks for a ration card number, type it only on the official state page, never on unknown sites.
- If the page does not load, try again later. Government servers are often busy near month end. Your state's food department or 1967 helpline can also help.
States without an AePDS-branded site
Not every state uses the AePDS name. Gujarat runs its own IPDS system. Rajasthan reports appear on food.raj.nic.in. Jharkhand uses the Aahar portal, Karnataka uses Ahara, Himachal Pradesh uses epds.co.in and Tamil Nadu uses TNPDS. Goa and Sikkim reports are hosted on the Haryana server, and several north-eastern states plus Ladakh are hosted on epos.nic.in. West Bengal did not appear in the ePoS table at all.
So if you search "aepds" plus your state and find nothing official, it may simply be that your state uses a different system name. The nfsa.gov.in list is the safest place to start.
Madhya Pradesh and state guides on this site
For Madhya Pradesh, the main AePDS site is epos.mp.gov.in, and ration card details are on Ration Mitra. Read our guides to the epos.mp.gov.in portal and Ration Mitra. We also have separate pages for AePDS Delhi, AePDS Bihar, AePDS Assam and AePDS Telangana.
Fake AePDS sites: stay safe
- Many private sites copy the "AePDS" name. Some show adverts, some ask for personal details. Prefer links listed on nfsa.gov.in.
- Checking a report on a government AePDS site is free. Nobody should charge you for it.
- Never share an OTP or your full Aadhaar with a caller or a website you reached through an advert.
- This site does not collect ration card numbers, Aadhaar or OTPs.
Frequently asked questions
What is the AePDS portal?
AePDS is the Aadhaar enabled Public Distribution System. The AePDS portal of a state shows data from ePoS machines at ration shops, such as shop-wise transactions, stock, ration card counts and sometimes ration card details. Each state runs its own site. The central nfsa.gov.in portal lists the official link for each state.
Which state started AePDS first?
Andhra Pradesh. An NIC Informatics article from October 2015 described AP as the first state to implement ePoS in all fair price shops, beginning in Krishna district, with Phase I from 1 April 2015. Other states such as Haryana, Tripura, Punjab and Sikkim later adopted the AP model.
How do I find the official AePDS site for my state?
Open nfsa.gov.in and look for the State ePoS Portals or Ration Card State Portals pages, then click your state. The table on this page copies those links. If a link is broken, use the nfsa.gov.in list, because states sometimes change their addresses.
Can I check ration card details on every AePDS portal?
Not always. Many AePDS sites have an RC Details search, but the inputs vary and are confirmed only for a few states. Punjab's live AePDS menu, for example, showed no RC Details item. In that case, use the ration card details portal listed for your state in the table, or ask your local supply office.
Why is my state not using the name AePDS?
Some states built their own systems. Gujarat uses IPDS, Karnataka uses Ahara, Jharkhand uses Aahar, Tamil Nadu uses TNPDS and Rajasthan reports appear on food.raj.nic.in. They still record ePoS transactions, but under a different name and page layout.
Is it safe to use AePDS websites?
Official state portals listed on nfsa.gov.in are safe to view and free. The risk comes from lookalike private sites that copy the AePDS name. Check that the address ends in gov.in or nic.in, avoid sites that ask for payment, and never share an OTP.
